the most wonderful time of the year...

..."This is Halloween, This is Halloween, pumpkins scream in the dead of night"....That's right, it's that time of year! The most wonderful time of the year in my opinion.. and no, I am not talking about Christmas. October! Fall, cooler weather, the leaves changing, and HALLOWEEN! And of course...Jack Skellington. I adore everything "Nightmare Before Christmas".....Who doesn't love Oogie Boogie and Sandy Claws? The perfect way to begin the Halloween season...

As promised, I will be doing 31 nights of the scariest places on earth. I thought I'd start with something close to home.

#31- Salt Lace City Cemetery - "victim of the beast 666"

Haunted cemeteries are nothing new, but while I was researching some of Utah's scariest  places, this story came up more than once. And I can see why. Holy freak! Maybe it's  me, but isn't that something you might NOT want on your headstone? just sayin'....beloved wife and mother, sure...in loving memory, absolutely....victim of the beast 666...uhh, not so much...
This grave belongs to Lilly E. Gray, June 6 1881-Nov. 14 1958. No one knows why the stone was engraved with these disturbing words, but I sure as hell ain't goin' up there to find out! I'm sure she was a lovely woman...Maybe she hated people and knew this would keep everyone away. Mission accomplished, Mrs. Gray. I promise I will never bother you.....like ever...
So if you ever come out  to visit me, I would be happy to give you a tour of my fair city. Just know that we won't be going to any cemeteries or visiting the lovely Mrs. Lilly E. Gray....

          *footnote*
My headstone will bear the following words:
"Chantal Maria Lowry McNeill, devoted daughter, beloved wife and mother, killer of zombies and formidable fruit loop. May she rest in peace. Thank you for coming, now go away. the end."  Please feel free to leave me pictures of Johnny Depp. Thank you.
