#25 -Terrifying tunnels of bones: Paris, france

#25- The Catacombs of of Paris

Ahhh, Paris....the city of lights. The city of romance, baguettes  and berets. The Eiffel Tower and snooty french people. But they also have crepes. And I adore crepes, so I will forgive them for being snooty.
It is also the city of miles and miles of really creepy tunnels with lots of really creepy bones known as " l'oussuaire municipal". Due to the population growth and overcrowded cemeteries, it was suggested that the bodies be moved and bones stored underground. In the late 1700's, the tunnels were opened and are now considered one of the 10 most haunted places in the world. It's no surprise, seeing as there are 6 million people buried down there. This means 6 million people are  just waiting to scare the scare the crap out of you!
Some have said they were touched by invisible hands. Others claim they had the feeling of being watched. Strange noises and voices can be heard. And some have said they were strangled. Bodies have been found of those who ventured out alone, got lost and were never seen again.  I can confidently say that this will never happen to me..and this is why: 1. I don't have plans to visit Paris anytime soon. 2. Even if I did visit Paris sometime in the foreseeable future, I don't have plans to go 100 feet underground so 6 million people can choke me to death. 3. I have an extreme case of claustrophobia. So when I say this will never happen to me, I MEAN this will never happen to me. I will be sitting at a little sidewalk cafe, sipping fine french champagne and eating my crepes as I point and laugh at the people who foolishly decide they want this experience. Silly people! Don't call me when you get lost. I won't come to try and find you. Sorry.

                          *footnote*
If you are one of those foolish people I'm laughing and pointing at, I would recommend you take a baguette with you. This will give you something to beat them off if they try and strangle you....The baguette of bravery....
